Position Overview:
Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing provides instruction to students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing across multiple grade levels. This role delivers academic instruction aligned with the regular or adapted curriculum, utilizes amplification devices, and supports communication needs through sign language and other accessible methods. The educator collaborates with school teams to meet the unique learning needs of each student.

Monday–Friday - Hours:
40 hours per week - Pay Rate: $55/hour
- Modality:
In-person - Openings: 1 position
- Caseload: 10–20 students
- Travels across three campuses (elementary, middle, high school)
- Must hold both a SPED Certification and Teacher of the Auditorily Impaired Certification
- Provides direct instruction, academic support, and communication-focused interventions
- Provide instruction to deaf and hard-of-hearing students using sign language and amplification devices
- Deliver curriculum adapted to individual communication and academic needs
- Collaborate with school staff to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to professional practice standards
- Support students across multiple campus environments
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate
- Knowledge of sign language and amplification systems
- Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students preferred
- ASL proficiency exam or certification may be required
- CPR certification if applicable
- TB screening and health certificate per state guidelines
- Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations
- Must be at least 18 years of age
