About LWISD
Serving more than 3,200 students across five schools in Tarrant County, Lake Worth ISD is a diverse and tight-knit district. Opportunity
The Principal leads the school in delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring strong student outcomes across all classrooms. At LWISD, this role is responsible for building a culture of excellence, supporting teacher development, and implementing systems that promote academic achievement, student well-being, and continuous school improvement. The Principal ensures that instructional practices, staff collaboration, and school operations align to support every student's success and long-term readiness.
Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
- Lead the implementation of a rigorous instructional program aligned to state standards and district curriculum, with clear expectations for high-quality classroom practice.
- Monitor and improve the quality of instruction through classroom observations, walkthroughs, coaching systems, and professional learning communities.
- Ensure consistent implementation of district instructional frameworks, curriculum, and observation tools.
- Analyze and triangulate student achievement, instructional, culture, attendance, and staffing data to diagnose school needs, identify root causes, and guide instructional improvement efforts.
- Develop and implement a campus improvement plan aligned with district priorities, with clear goals, leading indicators, monitoring routines, and accountability for results.
- Articulate and execute a clear theory of school improvement that links leadership actions to classroom practice and student outcomes, and prioritizes the highest-leverage actions.
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-quality instructional staff through a strong talent strategy aligned to campus needs.
- Conduct teacher evaluations and support professional growth through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability.
- Facilitate professional learning communities and staff development activities that lead to instructional adjustments and improved practice.
- Ensure alignment between teacher performance expectations, professional standards, and instructional outcomes.
- Lead adults through change by building buy-in, addressing resistance directly, and escalating performance concerns when needed while maintaining strong relationships.
- Foster a positive, safe, inclusive, and high-expectation school environment.
- Implement clear systems that support student engagement, attendance, behavior expectations, and social-emotional learning.
- Promote collaboration among teachers, staff, students, and families to sustain a culture of excellence.
- Ensure all student groups have access to rigorous instruction and supports, and monitor progress to address achievement gaps.
- Oversee school operations including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation, aligning resources directly to student learning priorities.
- Build a coherent campus operating system that integrates instruction, culture, operations, and leadership routines.
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations, and uphold clear non-negotiables for instruction, culture, and professionalism.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and other operational systems through clear routines, leading indicators, and regular progress reviews.
- Communicate effectively and work constructively with district leadership to align campus priorities with district direction.
- Build proactive partnerships and engagement systems with families and community organizations.
- Communicate school goals, progress, and expectations with stakeholders, and navigate difficult conversations with clarity and professionalism.
- Master's degree in educational leadership, school administration, or a related field
- Valid Texas principal certification required; TEA requires candidates for the standard principal certificate to complete an approved educator preparation program, hold a master's degree, and pass the required certification exam.
