Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities. Support the Pre‑Kindergarten teacher in meeting the physical, instructional, and social needs of students, including the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP), 504 Plans, and Response to Intervention (RTI) accommodations.
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Support- Provide instruction to students under the direction of the teacher; work individually or in small groups.
- Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or assignments.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Help the teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
- Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Make the teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and special events; serve on staff committees as required.
- Ensure all interactions with students, district personnel, and parents are supportive, courteous, and respectful.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
- Pursue professional development activities aligned with district goals and initiatives.
- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and written directives.
- Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Completed formal academic assessment, associate degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning.
- Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate.
- For positions funded by Title monies or at campus‑wide Title campuses: an associate degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or a formal academic assessment required by ESSA.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience in an educational environment (preferred).
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Skill in working with a variety of students in varied situations.
- Self‑motivation and self‑direction.
- Ability to read; understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one situations.

- Prolonged sitting; occasional bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Work on site at the assigned school; regular exposure to noise and computer monitors. No remote work.
