Job Description
Salary: Certified $62,000 + commensurate with experience for the 26-27 school year.
Job Function: Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for developing and delivering academic instruction and a classroom climate that are consistent with district policy and philosophy and that maximize student potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Responsibilities- Implement research‑based instructional strategies to promote student achievement.
- Deliver differentiated instructional activities according to student knowledge, learning style, and individual needs.
- Design and submit engaging, differentiated, and standards‑based lesson plans according to district guidelines.
- Implement district curriculum as articulated in curriculum documents (scope‑and‑sequence, unit plans, etc.).
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to maximizing learning.
- Develop and implement classroom rules and procedures that teach and reinforce appropriate social behavior.
- Plan and prepare effective instructional activities, materials, learning centers, and assessments as needed.
- Provide whole‑group, small‑group, and/or one‑to‑one instruction and tutoring as required.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, the student handbook, and campus policies and procedures.
- Collaborate extensively with support teachers and aides (ESL, SpEd, TAG, RTI) to develop and deliver appropriate educational activities for at‑risk or special‑needs students.
- Collaborate with department and faculty to ensure consistency of instructional delivery, classroom management, and campus procedures.
- Monitor students in various settings and maintain data‑based documentation of their performance and progress during interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student grades, behavior, and other indicators, and communicate this information to stakeholders as required.
- Understand and comply with all district policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Participate in staff development activities, extracurricular activities, district/school committees, and other opportunities to develop a positive school community.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or Chief Academic Officer.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of constituents or employees.
- Willingness to learn to use Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, letters, and other written communication.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Physical ability to sit, use hands, talk, and stand; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Must meet Highly Qualified status.
- Valid Texas teacher certification in the respective content and grade level.
- ESL Certification is required.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
