Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2026 team! If you are a hard‑working and collaborative team member who is passionate about working with children (Pre‑K‑5th grade) in an energetic summer camp environment and creating a summer full of memories for our campers (and yourself), we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities- Assist the Fort Wonder Site Director in delivering exceptional summer camp experiences for campers, families, and camp staff
- Provide support to Day Camps and Specialty Camps staff, including substituting for counselors as needed in the classroom
- Communicate professionally and effectively with supervisors and peers as issues arise
- Assist with oversight of camper lunch periods
- Lead camp operations, including preparation and distribution of camp supplies
- Commit to the summer schedule:
May 26‑29, 8:00AM‑4:00PM camp training with a 30‑minute lunch break daily;
June 1‑July 17, 7:45AM‑4:00PM Specialty Camps Monday through Friday with a 30‑minute lunch break daily (no camps June
19 or the week of June
29‑July3);
July
20‑31, 7:45AM‑12:00PM or 11:45AM‑4:00PM Specialty Camp shift Monday‑Friday
- High School graduate
- At least one year of demonstrated experience managing groups of children and leadership experience in a summer camp setting
- Must pass a criminal background check and have positive verification of references
- Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing
- Subject to outside environmental conditions
$15+ per hour
