Position Summary
Assistant Director, Instructional Assessment provides leadership and institutional oversight for the effective, college-wide implementation of assessment processes for student learning. This position leads and manages program- and course-level assessment activities; ensures the timely collection, organization, and documentation of student learning outcomes information; and supports evidence-based improvement efforts. Collaborates with faculty, department leads, and academic leadership to promote consistent assessment practices, continuous improvement, and compliance with accreditation-related assessment requirements.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Leads and oversees timelines, communications, and submission workflows for program- and course-level student learning outcomes assessment across the College
- Oversees the collection, organization, and maintenance of assessment documentation submitted by faculty and departments to support institutional and accreditation-related assessment requirements
- Designs, delivers, and leads training, resources, and process guidance to faculty, department chairs, and academic leaders on instructional assessment expectations and tools
- Manages and supports assessment-related software systems, ensuring accurate documentation and functionality for continuous improvement processes
- Develops and prepares institutional assessment summaries, status updates, and supporting materials that reflect assessment activities and evidence-based improvement efforts
- Collaborates strategically with Institutional Research and other academic offices to align assessment-related information, data, and documentation with institutional reporting needs
- Monitors institutional instructional assessment implementation workflows and identifies gaps or delays, communicating with stakeholders to ensure timely and consistent participation
- Provides timely updates to stakeholders to support consistent assessment practices and continuous improvement efforts
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision:
Works under the general supervision of the District Director of Curriculum and Education Planning.
Performs other related tasks as required.

RequiredMinimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- Minimum one year (1) of full-time teaching experience in higher education
- At least one (1) year of experience using data, documentation, or reporting tools in a higher education academic or institutional setting
- At least one (1) year of experience coordinating higher-education projects, timelines, or workflow processes that require cross-department collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and structured institutional reporting
- Two years’ experience working in a community college environment
- Experience with institutional effectiveness or accreditation-related processes
- Experience using assessment or curriculum management systems
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of the community college
- Knowledge of the principles of teaching and assessment
