Position

Summary

The Assistant Director of Athletics brings a dynamic blend of strategic leadership and operational expertise to TVS's athletic program. With a focus on the middle school program, this role oversees daily operations, coaches, scheduling, budgeting, and facilities—while serving as a key liaison between athletics and academics. This individual leads with integrity, emotional intelligence, and a deep commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork, and the mission of TVS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Athletics with daily athletic department functions, budget, and fiscal operations.
  • Oversee all middle school athletic program daily operations.
  • Supervise and mentor all middle school full- and part-time coaches.
  • Schedule middle school game days and practices, ensuring no conflicts with shared resources such as the weight room and athletic trainers.
  • Assist with scheduling and execution of athletic facility rentals.
  • Assist with staff management and evaluations.
  • Act as liaison between athletics and academics.
  • Represent the Athletic Department at middle school faculty meetings and school-wide or conference-wide meetings as needed.
  • Stay current on policy changes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Familiarity with NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Association) rules
  • Familiarity with SPC (Southwest Preparatory Conference) rules
  • Prior experience in athletic administration or coaching in a school setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
