The Kimbell Art Museum offers a paid, part‑time Library internship to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, who are interested in learning about museum practices and developing professional skills.
The Kimbell internship program is designed to mentor future museum professionals from diverse cultural, economic, social, and educational backgrounds. Interns are assigned to departments based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns work both independently and collaboratively to gain comprehensive experience through immersive projects.
ResponsibilitiesLibrary interns participate at a professional level in ongoing library activities, building a comprehensive understanding of practices, terms, and trends specific to museum librarianship. In collaboration with library staff, interns develop and implement a term project that both supports the library’s activities and aligns with their professional and educational goals.

Pay Rate$15.00 per hour
Qualifications- A resume describing any work or extracurricular experiences
- A cover letter that explains what you hope to gain from participating in the Kimbell internship program
- An unofficial transcript
- Two letters of recommendation
- Two professional and two personal references
- Applicants must be able to pass a standard pre‑employment criminal background and drug screening
