Leads the district wide planning, execution, and performance management of K–12 Mathematics and Science to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction across all campuses. Directly oversees curriculum design and writing, lesson internalization systems, and instructional delivery aligned to the district's Instructional Framework and high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). Establishes and manages clear performance expectations to drive a high-performance culture across the department. Ensures tight coherence across curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and instructional supports to deliver measurable gains in student outcomes and meet state accountability expectations.
Builds and executes systems that enable teachers, assistant principals, and principals to internalize and deliver rigorous, grade-level instruction with fidelity, ensuring equitable access and strong results for all students.
- Leads the design, writing, and continuous improvement of K–12 Mathematics and Science curriculum, ensuring all materials are tightly aligned to the TEKS, high-quality instructional materials (HQIM), and the district's Instructional Framework.
- Owns and oversees the development of Instructional Planning Calendars (IPCs) across K–12 Mathematics and Science, ensuring coherence, rigor, and consistency across grade levels, campuses, and student groups.
- Establishes and manages clear expectations, timelines, and quality standards for curriculum writing, IPC development, and revision cycles, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality outputs.
- Designs and implements systems for lesson internalization and instructional readiness, ensuring teachers, assistant principals, and principals can effectively internalize and deliver grade-level instruction with fidelity.
- Builds and manages a high-performance culture across the department, setting clear performance expectations, monitoring execution, and holding leaders accountable for results.
- Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive data strategy, ensuring teams use student performance data to identify gaps, address them in real time, and analyze trends over time to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitors the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional systems, using assessment data, Demonstrations of Learning (DOL) performance, and other indicators to refine IPCs, supports, and instructional strategies.
- Ensures tight alignment between curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and campus supports, eliminating fragmentation and driving systemwide coherence.
- Develops and implements systems to monitor instructional quality and fidelity of implementation across campuses, making adjustments based on data and observed practice.
- Leads and supports district wide professional learning aligned to curriculum and instructional priorities, ensuring all training builds teacher and leader capacity to execute at a high level.
- Supervises, evaluates, and develops Directors and coordinators, building leadership capacity and ensuring strong execution across all areas of responsibility.
- Directs departmental support to campuses, ensuring Mathematics and Science teams provide consistent, high-quality, and timely support aligned to district priorities.
- Ensures research‑based, rigorous instructional practices are implemented consistently across campuses, meeting the needs of all students, including EB and SWD populations.
- Oversees the development and implementation of Math and Science assessment systems and data collection processes, ensuring timely access to actionable data and monitoring of longitudinal trends.
- Manages budgets, staffing models, and resource allocations, ensuring strategic alignment to district priorities and equitable distribution of resources.
- Monitors progress toward district and departmental goals, providing regular updates, identifying areas for improvement, and leading the development of action plans to drive results.
