This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on availability of funds.
Position Purpose
The Coordinator of Migrant Services and Emergent Bilingual Retention & Achievement is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and compliance of programs and services designed to improve achievement, retention, graduation readiness, and postsecondary success for Migrant and Emergent Bilingual students. Supports student intervention systems, program monitoring, data analysis, and compliance efforts to ensure equitable access to services and improved student outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Supports the implementation and compliance of Migrant Education Program services and initiatives, ensuring alignment with all federal, state, and district requirements and expectations.
* Services as the district liaison with Region 11 ESC and Migrant Education Program partners to coordinate services, monitor implementation, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
* Monitors systems for identifying, coding, and serving eligible Migrant students, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with reporting requirements.
* Supports monitoring of academic achievement, attendance, retention, and graduation readiness for Migrant and Emergent Bilingual students.
* Collaborates with campus administrators, counselors, and district departments to identify barriers to student success and implement intervention strategies that improve persistence and school completion.
* Proactively leverages data-driven decision-making and initiative to monitor, improve, and accelerate outcomes for Emergent Bilingual students while fostering meaningful engagement with parents and guardians.
* Supports initiatives that promote student engagement, graduation readiness, college, career, and military readiness, and successful transitions to postsecondary opportunities
* Coordinates and supports mentoring, leadership, academic enrichment, and intervention opportunities to improve outcomes for Migrant and Emergent Bilingual students.
* Supports summer, supplemental, and transition programming that addresses the unique needs of Migrant and highly mobile students.
* Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and availability, including extended or adjusted work hours during peak compliance periods, monitoring cycles, and critical deadlines, to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
Safety
* Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
* Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
* Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.

* Knowledge of graduation requirements, dropout prevention strategies, and college, career, and military readiness indicators.
* Knowledge of language acquisition and educational supports for Emergent Bilingual students.
* Knowledge of bilingual education program models, including Dual Language, and expectations for implementation fidelity across PK12 settings.
* Knowledge of community-based resources and partnerships that support student success and family engagement.
* Skill in building and sustaining a high-performance culture focused on improving student outcomes at scale.
