DescriptionThe Assessment and Intervention Specialist is responsible for the development and overall execution of policies and procedures related to the administration and security of campus‑wide state and local testing programs. The District Testing Coordinator will act as the liaison between the director of assessment and accountability and the campus. The AIS will develop and facilitate all testing training sessions for the professional development of all campus personnel.
The specialist will ensure trainings and expectations comply with federal, state, local, and district policies, rules, and regulations. The Assessment and Intervention Specialist is also designed to work directly with students to personalize the learning experience based on their needs.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Knowledge of the state testing program and accountability system
- Ability to use student test data systems
- Ability to perform statistical analysis
- Ability to use personal computer and software programs to collect, report, and present data and test‑related information
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- 3 years teaching experience
- Present and support testing presentations for professional development offerings in collaboration with campus and the Department of Assessment and Accountability.
- Implement district procedures, documentation, and handbooks for administering and tracking assessment compliance including but not limited to test security procedures, testing certificates, training, student enrollment in assessments, professional development, and related services.
- Assist campus with assessment implementation analysis and the development of action plans in response to test administration.
- Develop and coordinate best practices and assessment administration strategies, programs, and support systems for the campus.
- Support the district across multiple disciplines to promote consistency in testing and a collaborative approach to assessment, ensuring secure student accessibility features, designated supports, and accommodations to address individual student needs.
- Responsible for all state‑mandated testing and local assessments.
- Collect and disaggregate data from screeners, diagnostic and progress monitoring data for the purpose of identifying struggling learners, designing instruction/intervention, and evaluating student response to academic interventions (MTSS).
- Provide individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students in pull‑out and/or classroom settings.
- Assist campus teachers in developing strategic plans for intervention, acceleration, and enrichment to support growth in all students.
- Conduct data meetings with teachers to communicate student results and formulate action plans for student achievement.
- Collaborate with the CCMR team to track data and design action plans for individual students.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
- Successfully advance district initiatives.
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress, repetitive hand motions, prolonged computer use. Duties may include instruction, attending meetings and professional development, and making and receiving phone calls in a virtual or remote workplace environment.
