Position Purpose
This position is a campus‑based secondary mathematics teaching role. The teacher serves as the main trainer and model for campus wide mathematics instruction, providing instruction for one to two STAAR‑tested core content periods, facilitating coaching and professional learning communities, and supporting instructional excellence through coaching, tutoring, and model classrooms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Teach one to two standard class periods as the teacher of record used for lab observation and professional development.
- Maintain a class roster that meets Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) requirements.
- Develop and implement strategic acceleration models to support students below grade level.
- Provide small‑group instruction beyond roster students, using evidence‑based tutoring practices and tracking student progress.
- Create and deliver coaching rotations and sprints with administration to support content‑area teachers.
- Co‑facilitate weekly cohort professional learning communities (PLCs) with campus administrators.
- Offer real‑time coaching, observation, modeling, and feedback to content‑area teachers.
- Debrief and conduct professional conversations with teachers regarding instructional delivery.
- Assist with campus professional development aligned to district priorities and the Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with teachers on planning, internalization, and delivery of standards‑aligned lessons and daily demonstrations of learning.
- Participate in mandatory professional development and train‑the‑trainer programs to support high‑quality mathematics instruction.
- Create high‑quality instructional videos using district‑adopted materials as a professional learning resource.
- Support parent/guardian engagement activities to strengthen family partnerships.
- Maintain accurate records documenting support and interventions.
- Attend department meetings, training, and professional learning sessions as assigned.
- Respond promptly to telephone and email inquiries from staff and central administration.
- Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with peers, students, administration, and district employees.
- Eligible for Bilingual and ESL stipends if teaching and roster criteria are met.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures for lifting, climbing, and tool use.
- Report unsafe conditions to supervisor promptly.
- Maintain commitment to the district’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
- Exhibit high professionalism, conduct, and work ethic.
- Demonstrate high‑quality customer service and rapport with consumers.
- Show cultural competence, respect coworkers, communicate as a team player, and handle confrontational situations appropriately.
- Perform all job‑related duties assigned in accordance with board rules, policies, and regulations.
- Current evidence‑based mathematics teaching methods and differentiation.
- Strong content knowledge in mathematics facts, theories, and principles.
- Proficiency with data systems, analysis, and action planning.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of multicultural diversity issues.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with bilingual, ELL, and underserved student groups.
- Professional learning, technical assistance, and consultation skills.
- Planning and delivering lesson internalization professional learning.
- Data research and interpretation.
- College‑level writing, speaking, and interpersonal communication.
- Flexibility to work after school or Saturdays for professional learning or other required activities.
- Ability to conduct classroom observations and determine professional learning needs.
- Consider academic, social, and emotional needs when selecting accommodations.
- Facilitate group meetings.
- Handle confidential office files and records.
- Lead, develop, and direct professional learning.
- Analyze student outcome data and communicate insights to teachers.
