Substitute Teacher (Training Offered!)
Location: Fort Worth, TX - Crowley ISD (PLI), Tarrant County
Compensation: $80.00 - $95.00 / Day
OverviewThe Substitute Teacher is responsible for leading classroom instruction during teacher absences. They follow lesson plans, maintain routine, and ensure a safe learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms.
- Review and implement the regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
- Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to the school administration.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
- Supervise students' fieldwork, internship, and research work.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
- Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
- Issue written and oral instructions; assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by the school administration.
- Other duties as assigned or as become evident.
Language Skills
:
Ability to read, comprehend, write simple correspondence, and present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
Math Skills
:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, percent, and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Abilities
:
Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsNo specific requirements for this position.
Computer SkillsExcellent skills in Microsoft Windows.
Physical DemandsEmployee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will regularly talk and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
Vision RequirementsClose vision (clear at 20 inches or less).
Distance vision (clear at 20 feet or more).
Ability to adjust focus.
