- Work with students who may have moderate to severe delays.
- Help special education teacher provide physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a special education setting.
- Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.
- Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.
- Associate’s degree or at least 48 hours of college coursework completed (an unofficial college transcript will be required prior to hiring).
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
Skills:
- Ability to work with children with disabilities.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of general office equipment.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Some experience working with children.
Starting salary range: $24,041 - $29,112. Work calendar: 187 days. Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience. Salary will be adjusted to your start date to reflect the number of days left in your calendar for this school year.
