Builds capacity of teachers across the District in early learning through professional learning, coaching, and in classroom support with curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student-centered, equity driven instructional practices. Supports teachers in campus curriculum and content planning. Engages in data driven conversations to support student and teacher growth. Collaborates with campus administrators in the alignment of campus instructional practices to increase student achievement and campus outcomes/goals.
Creates, facilitates, and supports professional learning offerings in collaboration with the Director of Early Learning. Supports curriculum development as well as other instructional initiatives. Builds capacity at campuses in order to improve outcomes and student achievement through specific early learning instructional support. Focuses on supporting the highest needs campuses as an equity strategy designed to improve outcomes of our most marginalized students and communities.
Job Functions
- Demonstrates a growth mindset in working with and building strong relationships with teachers.
- Collaborates with other Content Area Coaches and Content Coordinators across the Teaching and Learning organization.
- Maintains accurate and timely records to document support.
- Attends department meetings, trainings, and professional learning as assigned.
- Responds promptly to telephone and email inquiries from campus staff and central administration.
- Maintains cooperative and professional working relationships with peers, students, administration, and other school/district employees.
- Supports curriculum and assessment development as assigned.
- Provides ongoing mentorship, coaching, and on-site support to early learning teachers in best practices, curriculum implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Collaborates with teachers on planning and preparing standards-aligned lessons.
- Collaborates with campus instructional coaches and campus leadership team.
- Support teachers with instructional needs specific to the content area through observation/feedback, modeling, co-teaching, coaching and professional learning.
- Debriefs and conducts professional conversations with teachers regarding instructional delivery.
- Assists Early Learning department and teachers with the implementation of instruction that is aligned with state and District standards.
- Designs and facilitates professional development offerings for early learning teachers.
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
