Full Time Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries
All Saints’ is a program‑sized, multi‑generational parish that enthusiastically celebrates, lives, and proclaims by word and example the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are seeking a full‑time Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries who will help lead our congregation’s large population of children, youth, and young families into a greater knowledge and love of God through worship in the Episcopal tradition, Christian formation, service, and fellowship.
The successful candidate will have a robust Christian faith, demonstrated success in teaching or leading ministries for children and youth, a collegial spirit, administrative acumen, an engaging personality, and a heart for people of all ages.
- Create one comprehensive Christian formation plan for children from preschool through
- Cultivate relationships with families at All Saints’.
- Provide resources and support for parents to offer Christian formation at home.
- Identify, recruit, train, and motivate adult volunteers to assist in children’s and youth ministries and facilitate their training in the prevention of misconduct and sexual abuse as required by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.
- Communicate program information to our families through a variety of media in a timely fashion, including weekly newsletters and social media.
- Manage a comprehensive formation program for elementary school children that includes Godly Play, other Christian formation opportunities on Sunday mornings, and engages them at other times during the year.
- Provide leadership and oversight for annual Children’s events such as the Epiphany Pageant, Trunk or Treat, and Vacation Bible School.
- Manage a comprehensive formation program for middle and high school youth that includes Christian formation on Sunday mornings and engages them at other times during the year.
- Organize and lead the weekly Sunday evening youth gathering.
- Identify, develop, and disciple youth leaders in the congregation.
- Connect with youth at school and community events (concerts, sporting events, etc.).
- Create opportunities for youth to be involved in mission and service work.
- Hire and manage the nursery staff.
- Keep the nursery and classrooms orderly and efficient, including ensuring that they have the necessary supplies, equipment, and furnishings.
- Experience leading children’s and youth programming in a church or school setting.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and train volunteers.
- Godly Play experience preferred.
- A willingness and an ability to meet volunteers where they are and to guide them into a compelling vision of children’s and youth ministries at All Saints’.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The Episcopal Diocese of Texas requires this position to be filled by a Confirmed Episcopalian (with some exceptions).
- A willingness to be subject to a background check.
The Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries will receive an annual salary of $55,000‑65,000, commensurate with experience.
In addition to their salary, they can elect to receive the following:
- Employer provided health plan coverage for the employee, with family plans available, and the option to add prescription, dental, orthodontia, hearing, vision, life, and disability coverage.
- Employer funded Health Savings Account (HSA).
- Available to participate in employer retirement savings plan (403b) with employer contributing base of 5% and up to an additional 4% employer matching contribution.
- Continuing education – 5 days and $1000 budget per year.
- Designated holiday pay and Accrual of vacation/sick pay.
