The purpose of Next Gen ministry is to equip and activate the next generation to love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength and to love their neighbor as themselves by engaging every family and elevating community.

The purpose of the Kids Leader Developer is to equip and activate the church body to foster and invest in powerful God-centered relationships with our children ages birth through 5th grade.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Spirit Alignment
    - Prayerfully and humbly listen to the Holy Spirit with a discerning and obedient posture, in order to cooperate with the move of God in the next generation, seeking alignment and unity in common vision, values, strategy, and language
  • Deep Discipleship
    - Disciple the next generation to encounter God through worship, the Word, wonders, and development of a Christ-centered worldview leading to a resilient walk with Jesus
  • Mission Mobilization
    - Mobilize the next generation to discover and participate in the Mission of God every day, instilling in them a sense of passion and purpose as witnesses to the world who pray, give, and go Family Engagement
    - Equip and partner with all families in every circumstance to firmly establish a God-given sense of identity in the next generation through milestones, family experiences, and coaching and cues
  • Community Elevation & Leader Development
    - Organize our ministry around small groups of intergenerational relationships to give the next generation a sense of belonging as part of a life-giving faith community by equipping and activating leaders

Tasks
  • Small Group Culture – promote small groups as primary discipleship strategy
  • Weekly Leaders – Recruit, onboard, and train leaders to show up weekly for kids
  • Parent Support – Train small group leaders to engage and align with parents and guardians
  • Age Group Transitions – Transition kids smoothly to the next ministry as they age
  • Group Interaction – Encourage and equip classroom leaders with creative, age-appropriate ideas for telling and re-telling the Bible story
  • Strategic Experiences – Enhance the relationships between leaders and the kids in their care
  • Faith Practices and Habits – Equip leaders to develop and model core spiritual practices and habits of The Hills Church
  • Child Development – Train leaders on characteristics or phase of the specific age group they serve
  • Lesson Preparation – Prepare and organize weekly lesson content, activities, discussion points, and materials for leaders ahead of each scheduled lesson
  • Leadership Pipeline – create and maintain a healthy leadership pipeline within kids ministry
  • Arrive early on Sundays to set up rooms,computers, and support operations
  • Attend scheduled Kids Ministry calendar eventsin order to participate in ministry opportunities
