This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person. The Department of Computer Science at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning in Fall 2027. As TCU advances toward Carnegie R1 status, we seek colleagues who will strengthen the department's research profile while contributing to our tradition of excellence in teaching and student mentorship.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong potential to establish an impactful, externally funded research program and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants from all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply. Areas of particular interest include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Quantum and Advanced Computing, and Cyber-Physical and Autonomous Systems. We especially welcome candidates whose research addresses significant scientific, technological, or societal challenges and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary and externally funded research.

Required:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by August 1, 2027.
• Strong potential for impactful research and scholarly contributions.
• Demonstrated potential to develop and sustain an externally funded research program.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Interest in contributing to the continued growth of the department and its graduate programs.

Preferred:

• Research expertise in an area that complements or expands the department's existing strengths.
• Experience with proposal development or evidence of success in securing external research funding.
• Potential to develop a nationally recognized research program.
• Interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative research.

The Department of Computer Science offers a collaborative and collegial environment, a highly motivated student body, and strong support for both teaching and research. The department is experiencing significant growth in faculty, research, and graduate education, with 9 tenure-track/tenured faculty members and more than 200 undergraduate majors. Our Ph.D. program in Computer Science welcomed its inaugural cohort of nine fully funded doctoral students in Fall 2026, creating new opportunities for graduate education, research, and doctoral student mentorship.

Faculty conduct research across a broad range of areas, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, software engineering, computer systems, and emerging computing technologies.
