Electrical Designer – Ghafari Associates

Job Summary: With general supervision from the Manager of Electrical Engineering or senior staff, apply electrical analysis, design and drafting skills to develop engineering design documents for lighting, power, and associated control systems for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes.

Essential Job Functions
  • Demonstrate engineering knowledge to design or analyze electrical systems for installation, interconnection, and control of electrical and mechanical components using applicable codes.
  • Create engineering documents using CAD technology (Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD) and provide CAD support to senior staff.
  • Produce construction documents per company standards with graphic ability.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
  • Conduct field measuring and checking at the project site.
  • Maintain organized project files containing calculations, schedules, correspondence, reference materials, etc.
  • Edit project specifications with assistance.
  • Review shop drawings for conformance with contract documents and specify required actions.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • 2-6 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering.
Skills / Competencies
  • Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam
  • BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
