Position Overview

Seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support post-award execution of utility pole and structure projects. This role serves as the bridge between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and the Customer, ensuring that recently awarded bids, proposals, and contracts are accurately translated into actionable engineering and production requirements.

The Project Coordinator will take ownership of incoming sales documentation and customer specifications and coordinate the conversion of those requirements into clear engineering inputs, schedules, and change management workflows. This position is critical to ensuring that pole geometry, attachments, electrical components, fabrication details, and customer-specific requirements are fully understood and executed correctly across internal teams.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical coordination experience who understands engineered products, manufacturing workflows, and customer-facing project execution in a utility or steel fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary post-award point of coordination for assigned projects, translating awarded proposals, quotes, and bids into clear engineering and execution requirements
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and proposal documents to identify critical engineering details including pole dimensions, shaft sides, bolt patterns, handholes, cutouts, fixtures, grounding components, and electrical attachment requirements
  • Interface with Sales, Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Services to ensure awarded project scope is fully understood and accurately communicated
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and company, providing schedule updates, coordinating change orders, and communicating customer feedback to internal teams
  • Develop and manage project schedules using visual management tools, tracking progress daily and escalating risks or delays as needed
  • Coordinate closely with the Value Stream Manager and plant operations to align engineering release, fabrication sequencing, and delivery commitments
  • Identify potential project risks related to engineering scope, schedule, capacity, or customer changes, and work with internal stakeholders to develop mitigation plans
  • Monitor and report on quality issues, rework levels, and productivity metrics tied to assigned projects
  • Support pricing development for change orders and revisions in compliance with existing contracts, ensuring margins are protected and captured appropriately
  • Ensure all change orders are properly documented, priced, approved, and reflected in engineering releases and production schedules
  • Lead cross-functional coordination for expedited delivery requests, aligning pricing, schedule, and feasibility with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management
  • Maintain and continuously improve standard work procedures for assigned customers and repeat project types
  • Support bid and proposal efforts by contributing project execution insights related to engineering feasibility, scheduling, cost drivers, and delivery strategy
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in technical project coordination, customer account administration, or project support within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and contract language related to fabricated or engineered products
  • Experience coordinating across sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams in a make-to-order or engineered-to-order environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and schedules simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience working in a utility, steel fabrication, structures, or industrial manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
