The Program Engineer is a technical expert responsible for converting design intent, specifications, and estimates into fully manufacturable technical packages. This role ensures conceptual and Sales-driven designs can be executed efficiently and consistently across Pattison ’s production facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Development
- Develop production ready technical sign family drawings.
- Translate conceptual design with intent into manufacturing-ready documentation.
- Ensure designs meet material, cost, and production constraints.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with plant engineers and production teams.
- Support BDi with early-stage technical reviews and feasibility assessments.
- Provide feedback to Sales, PMs, and Operations to reduce rework.
Standards & Process Leadership
- Maintain drafting standards.
- Support cross-plant consistency and best practices.
- Lead plant-level drafting training and process improvement.
Automation & Innovation
- Develop drafting automation tools, templates, and workflows.
- Identify and recommend improved materials or processes.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong CAD drafting expertise (Solid Works required; Corel
DRAW optional). - Hands-on understanding of signage fabrication methods.
- Ability to collaborate with creative and production teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Process-driven and detail-oriented.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate the telephone, type and operate computer and mouse.
- Primarily computer-based engineering and drafting.
- Occasional plant visits for training or design reviews.
- Light travel as required.
