Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Automation Technical Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full‑time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The Automation Technical Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automation equipment and automated systems used in electronics manufacturing and testing. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and performance to meet production and quality goals. The engineer works closely with manufacturing, operations, and quality teams to support continuous improvement and safe, efficient operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, conveyors, and robotic systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control‑system failures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and calibration documentation.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Install, relocate, and commission equipment for new or modified production lines.
- Integrate new automation equipment, vision inspection systems, and related technologies.
- Calibrate equipment and verify full functionality before production handoff.
- Partner with automation engineers to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Support production line changes, tooling adjustments, and process optimization activities.
- Implement maintenance best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Conduct RCCA using PDCA methodology, including error‑prevention actions.
- Follow all OSHA, EHS, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Participate in equipment safety audits and implement corrective actions as required.
- Associate degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of automation equipment maintenance experience, ideally in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or automated production environments.
- Proficient in troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and automated production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
- Experience with automation machine design using 2D/3D tools such as Solid Works, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Microsoft Office Suite
