We are seeking an Automation Technical Supervisor to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The Automation Technical Supervisor leads and develops a team of automation technical engineers responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated equipment used in electronics manufacturing. This role ensures equipment reliability, maximizes production uptime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and quality teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development- Plan technical implementation resources, timelines, data conversion, and deployment activities.
- Train, mentor, and support junior technical engineers and technicians.
- Enable team capability and capacity growth through ongoing knowledge updates in process, technical skills, and soft skills.
- Manage resource planning, workload allocation, and delivery enablement.
- Collaborate with management to implement strategic plans, drive improvement initiatives, and re‑engineer processes as needed.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, conveyors, and robotic systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and calibration documentation.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead installation, relocation, and commissioning of automation equipment for new or modified production lines.
- Integrate new automation systems, including vision inspection and related technologies.
- Perform equipment calibration and ensure full functionality prior to production handoff.
- Partner with engineers to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput.
- Support production line changes, tooling adjustments, and process optimization activities.
- Implement maintenance best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Execute RCCA using PDCA methodology, including preventive actions.
- Follow all OSHA, EHS, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation equipment maintenance within electronics manufacturing, assembly, or automated production environments.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and automation technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
- Experience with 2D/3D machine design tools such as Solid Works, Creo, and AutoCAD.
