We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) MV-75, part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop‑fold aircraft.
This position is onsite in Fort Worth, Texas.
Producibility Tooling EngineerBring your experience and ideas to lead the development, fabrication, and full lifecycle management of Special Tooling (jigs, dies, fixtures, molds, patterns, gauges, etc.) in support of the FLRAA Program. You’ll apply advanced manufacturing principles, theories, and concepts to the development of innovative manufacturing technologies and tooling solutions across existing and advanced designs, processes, systems, and production environments.
What You’ll be doing as a Producibility Tooling Engineer:- Oversee and direct the design and fabrication of Special Tooling (ST) used at Bell facilities to manufacture components, component assemblies, and aircraft assemblies.
- Manage Special Tooling (ST) associated with subcontracted components and component assemblies, ensuring alignment with program and supplier requirements.
- Generate system demand to enable tooling procurement, develop Statements of Work (SOWs) defining tooling requirements, and coordinate execution between tooling suppliers and Bell stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the FLRAA contract and prepare required customer delivery documentation to support on‑time program execution.
- Serve as the Earned Value Management (EVM) Work Package Leader (WPL), including planning and monitoring cost and schedule performance, executing variance analysis, and providing status reporting.
- Implement effective Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management by identifying impacts, informing program decisions, and developing mitigation and execution plans.
- Support the integration and implementation of new tooling methods, procedures, and processes into the FLRAA tooling strategy and Program Operating Instructions (POIs).
- Establish and drive execution of the FLRAA tooling strategy to reduce lead time and defects while improving First Pass Yield, in alignment with the Program Execution Plan.
- Collaborate with internal and industry‑recognized Technical Subject Matter Experts (Technical Fellows and Technical Competency Leads) and Manufacturing Centers of Excellence to ensure alignment of the FLRAA tooling strategy.
- Coordinate with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) to support DD‑250 processing for Special Tooling (ST).
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related technical degree.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing tool design and/or manufacturing tool engineering.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and/or program management tools including CATIA V6 / 3DX.
- Experience coordinating across multi‑disciplinary teams (engineering, manufacturing, tooling, quality, procurement, suppliers, etc.).
- Experience supporting military‑aligned Earned Value Management (EVM) programs, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), EV metrics management, and/or variance reporting is preferred.
- Proven self‑starter who requires minimal supervision, with strong foresight, problem‑solving skills.
- Working knowledge of engineering configuration management principles and standard engineering documentation and data management practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Comfortable supporting Government audit inquiries as part of Government Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and/or Quality audits.
- Experience with SAP and ENOVIA preferred.
