Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated hands‑on Senior Practice Lead to expand our Federal practice in Dallas/Fort Worth!

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead a Civil Works team while building and managing relationships with key Federal clients.
  • Lead and deliver large USACE Civil Works projects and programs, including water resource projects and flood mitigation programs.
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
  • Provide vision, business planning, and strategy.
  • Establish goals.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Maintain open communication with partners and team.
  • Grow and lead a land development practice.
  • Manage and mentor staff, transition work to qualified staff, and act as a positive leader.
  • Receive autonomy to lead, direct, and grow business.

Qualifications
  • 12+ years of relevant experience managing Civil Works projects in the Federal space.
  • Discipline expertise in one of the following areas: structural, mechanical, civil engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, DHS, the US Coast Guard, the National Guard, or other Federal agencies.
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Business development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage civil works projects profitably.
