We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) MV-75, part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop‑fold aircraft.

Certification Team

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Certification Engineer to join our Certification team in a role that is vital in ensuring regulatory compliance and safety. In this role, you will serve as a subject‑matter expert in aircraft certification, navigate the regulatory landscape, and lead interactions with regulatory agencies regarding certification of our aircraft.

The ideal candidate will have a strong program or project management foundation, exceptional communication skills, and a knack for navigating complex technical and regulatory environments. Aerospace or defense experience is highly preferred. Experience working with the FAA, preferably in an ODA environment, is a strong asset.

What you’ll be doing as a Certification Staff Engineer
  • Serve as the primary contact for Bell with the FAA and other Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities on engineering and certification matters.
  • Lead the development and execution of certification strategy for Bell projects.
  • Actively pursue the experience needed to obtain and appointment as an ODA Associate Administrator.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between ODA Administration, Civil Certification, Engineering, and Commercial Programs to manage supply and demand of Engineering Unit Member resources.
  • Track and manage certification program schedules, deliverables, and test activities to ensure proper allocation of certification resources.
  • Provide technical support to the Certification/ODA Team to identify and coordinate the correct talent within the UMs to carry out the compliance findings needed in support of certification project execution.
  • Support the development and track progression of development plans to support the appointment of new Unit Members and expansion of current Unit Members.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial Programs Teams and current UMs, to identify and execute training/mentoring opportunities for UM candidates and expansion.
  • Support the Director of Certification in strategic planning, milestone readiness, and cross‑functional alignment activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across technical teams and leadership to resolve roadblocks and maintain program momentum.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of certification strategies in compliance with FAA, EASA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Support readiness reviews, audits, and gate reviews through data collection, presentation development, and logistical coordination.
Skills You Bring To this Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering is required.
  • 15 years of experience in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Familiarity with certification processes (e.g., FAA Part 21/23/25/27/29, military airworthiness standards, or similar).
  • Experience working within an ODA system is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and program tracking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in program management and program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, Primavera P6).
  • Working knowledge of budgeting principles, forecasting methods, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interface confidently across teams.
