Job Description

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as an F-16 Aircraft General (APG) Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support the Taiwan Air Force. This position is located in Chihhang Air Base, Taitung, Taiwan and is an accompanied assignment – employee +1.

The FSE will provide on‑site advice, liaison, and informal training for the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and systems related to Block 70 F‑16 on and off the aircraft. The objective is to elevate technical skill and self‑sufficiency of the personnel responsible for operating and maintaining F‑16 aircraft and associated systems.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide on‑site informal unit training to the component level on installation, maintenance and operating techniques for adjustment, calibration, troubleshooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of prime equipment/system.
  • Advise on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and test equipment for F‑16 aircraft systems.
  • Devise local informal training programs and advise on needed training programs.
  • Emphasize safety precautions and demonstrate best methods of modifications and retrofit kits for F‑16 systems.
  • Provide technical advice to resolve difficult maintenance problems and analyze maintenance difficulties.
  • Recommend changes to establish maintenance, inspection and training programs that improve maintenance quality.
  • Facilitate liaison to disseminate manufacturer information regarding maintenance and operational problems to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Train on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders; provide assistance for accident investigation and failure data reporting.
  • Work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer requirements as needed.
  • Submit to a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Be a U.S. citizen with at least an Interim Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.
  • Pass an overseas physical.
