Overview
You will be the Hardware Engineer for the Simulation and Systems Test Labs (SST) which is responsible for building, integrating, and testing electronic rack systems that meet customer requirements.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating design efforts, managing build activities, and ensuring cost‑ and schedule‑performance across SST projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design engineers to review drawings, wire‑routing lists, and project scope.
- Develop detailed build plans, generate engineering estimates, and create project schedules.
- Lead the technician team through daily tasking, build execution, and integration of rack hardware.
- Track cost and schedule performance, attend status meetings, and report metrics to internal and external customers.
- Adapt to dynamic R&D requirements, supporting capital R&D projects and ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN — This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelors degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in electrical rack build methods, ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics and/or work in process concepts.
- Experience in simulation/test equipment (e.g. Simulated Cockpits, Computer Systems, Visual Systems, etc.).
- Possess a general knowledge of fabrication of electrical/mechanical assemblies and understanding of engineering drawings.
- Project management skills are highlighted as desirable.
- Understanding of aviation industry standards and how they apply to military applications.
- Experience in computer applications involving spreadsheets and/or databases and/or lead experience.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
