Job Number: 332509

We’re more than aviation experts, we’re pioneers. We challenge what’s possible, from breaking the sound barrier to advanced tiltrotor systems. Today, Bell is shaping the future of aviation through specialized engineering. And we want you.

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long‑Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, Bell’s Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and Bell’s High‑Speed Vertical Take‑Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next‑generation stop‑fold aircraft.

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Specialist

This Sr. CMM Specialist will be directly responsible for managing projects that advance breakthrough technologies, including non‑contact metrology, hybrid CMM inspections, Blade CMM inspection (twist and contour), and advanced analytics for quality. The role involves multi‑faceted assignments that contribute to continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, requires operating with minimal supervision in an ambiguous environment, and demands collaboration across programs and with U.S. and international government agencies.

  • Establish best methods for efficient and repeatable set‑up within an inspection environment for all levels and capabilities on the equipment.
  • Utilize expert knowledge in GD&T to ensure accurate layout, inspection, and results.
  • Create CMM programs for a leading aerospace company for production and during the launch of a new type of aircraft.
  • Perform and interpret CMM inspections on rotorcraft components and assemblies.
  • Provide technical expertise for inspection to influence program design engineering throughout advanced composite manufacturing development.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders—including Design IPTs, Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering Labs, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers—with quality expertise.
  • Manage relationships with industry partners that support quality.
Skills You Bring to This Role
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to interface with executive management and customer representatives.
  • Experience performing Measurement System Analysis (MSA) on CMMs, preferred.
  • Digital SPC systems and strategies, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Zeiss Calypso Software and Polyworks 3D point cloud, preferred.
  • Corrective Action/Continuous Improvement methodology, including statistical analysis and project management techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Access, Word, and Excel).
What you need to be successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or computer science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality or manufacturing.
  • Experience interpreting, validating, and communicating GD&T requirements.
  • Capability for part model extraction for programming using Catia V6 and 3DX.
  • Familiarity with complex composite assemblies, rotor blades, and inspection techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Hexagon PC‑DMIS required.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, standards (AS9100 and/or ISO
    9001), and concepts.
What we offer you in return
  • Off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule.
  • 80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO).
  • 120 hours of Vacation time.
  • 12–13 paid holidays per year.
  • 6 weeks of parental leave.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Comprehensive health insurance.
  • On‑site clinic, pharmacy, physical therapy, and licensed counselor.
  • Access to more than 11 Employee Resource Groups.
  • And so much more.

It’s time to make your mark on the future of aviation. Join us on this mission, and let’s make history together.

We are on a journey to amplify innovation, cultivate purpose, and bridge experiences by fostering a culture that is driven by unique perspectives, voices, and values.
