Bring your experience and ideas to a position that oversees the development of fully supported cost proposals based on RFPs received from the United States Government for both follow‑on and new business opportunities. A primary job focus is working closely with Military Program Management, Contracts, Pricing and Business Operations to shape, develop and lead a team of technical estimators to build fully substantiated cost proposals.

This position plays a key role in leading the development of negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations with USG customer for new and follow‑on contract awards. This role oversees the cost estimating team effort in accordance with the request for proposal (RFP) specifications. The oversight of fully substantiated Basis of Estimates with detailed analysis with comparisons to support proposal efforts and respond to USG auditors in a timely manner are important.

What

You’ll be Doing as a Manager - Labor Estimating
  • Supervising the proposing and negotiating of estimates for Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling for USG proposals.
  • Provide support and status to Pricing and Program Management.
  • Provide guidance to estimating groups to analyze customer requirements, participate in Statement of Work reviews, provide estimating assignments, review estimates and BOEs for accuracy and ensure a sufficient level of analysis, and provide reviews and presentations to Senior Management when appropriate.
  • Provide key support of customer fact‑finding activities and USG audits.
  • Review the development and maintenance of historic cost data and analysis.
  • Provide training and mentoring to the team of estimators to ensure organizational capabilities are met and individual growth is accomplished.
Skills You Bring To this Role
  • The ability to lead, manage and mentor a team of cost estimators.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven experience briefing senior management.
  • Ability to negotiate and support proposed costs directly with customers.
  • The ability to plan, organize and facilitate group efforts toward timely and effective closure.
  • Experience in managing or leading team efforts on multiple projects preferred.
What you need to be successful
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing labor estimating, engineering labor estimating, manufacturing engineering and tooling estimating, direct labor cost analysis, material cost estimating, proposal preparation, project management, or contract negotiations.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; (major in a technical field preferred); m ajors in a business concentration with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Masters of Business Administration is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills, SAP and Enovia experience.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
