Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Environmental Safety & Health Specialist Intern. In this role, you will Support the Aeronautics Environmental Safety & Health Department through completion of various compliance tasks, site communications, ESH program enhancements and records management.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, or a related technical field.

Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently, prioritize work effectively, and adapt to changing responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies and experience applying structured problem‑solving techniques to investigate incidents, identify underlying causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, convey technical information, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

Desired

Skills:

Familiarity with OSHA regulations, including workplace safety standards and compliance fundamentals.

Familiarity with EPA regulations, including basic environmental protection requirements and reporting standards.

Experience with metrics monitoring and reporting, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluating trends, and communicating results to support data‑driven decision‑making.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
