Job Overview

We are seeking a Weight Engineer to join our growing aerospace engineering team. The Weight Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and controlling the weight distribution of the aircraft. Day‑to‑day tasks include performing weight estimations, creating detailed weight reports, collaborating with design and systems engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with aerodynamics and aerospace engineering standards.

This engineer will work closely with the lead of Stress Engineering to support the 777‑freighter conversion program. This is a full‑time on‑site role located in Fort Worth, TX.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform weight calculations and estimates for engineering projects.
  • Analyze weight distribution and its impact on structural integrity.
  • Prepare detailed weight reports and documentation.
  • Develop loading and center of gravity envelopes for aircraft.
  • Develop weight and balance manual supplements.
  • Develop weight management and tracking systems.
  • Oversee the weighing of aircraft.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize weight efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct weight tests and simulations.
  • Identify and address weight‑related issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the development of weight‑saving techniques and materials.
  • Review and validate weight data from suppliers and contractors.
  • Support structural/system flight test activities with test ballast planning, fuel requirements, CG charts and load sheets.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in weight engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with weight management software and tools.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, or construction industries.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in weight calculation and analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
