* Description:
** You will be the Wind Tunnel Engineer Level 4 for the Aerodynamics Test Team which is responsible for delivering high‑fidelity wind‑tunnel testing and aerodynamic research for government and commercial programs
What You Will Be Doing
As the Wind Tunnel Engineer Level 4 you will be responsible for leading technical efforts in onsite aerodynamic labs while supporting a multidisciplinary engineering team
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with internal Lockheed Martin customers to define test schedules, requirements, and technical approaches
Guide model design, fabrication, instrumentation, and installation using mechanical‑design expertise and CATIA modeling
Plan and track project performance, budgets, and schedules to align with functional organization goals
Maintain and enhance custom LabVIEW‑based software, supporting data‑acquisition hardware, motion‑control, and pressure‑measurement systems
Enforce rigorous safety standards across large wind tunnels, smaller aerodynamic labs, and associated high‑pressure/vacuum equipment

You are a collaborative leader with proven experience in wind‑tunnel and aerodynamic‑lab environments Your background includes strong mechanical‑design skills, hands‑on model development, and proficiency with LabVIEW and CATIA You communicate clearly with customers and cross‑functional teams, prioritize safety, and mentor engineers at all career stages A willingness to learn from subject‑matter experts and drive continuous improvement defines your impact

* Basic Qualifications:
*
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government Secret security clearance This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Experience working in high tech lab testing environment
Knowledge and drive to enhance management of test projects
Willing to travel for off site testing for potentially multiple weeks per year

* Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems, primarily focused on the acquisition of data from pressure transducers, strain gages, and temperature probes
Willing to work hands on in a laboratory environment
Experience wind tunnel testing
Knowledge of National Instruments LABVIEW to maintain and develop new capabilities
Experience with Matlab
Experience with 3 D Solid Modeling CAD systems
Experience in instrumentation design and installation
Highly motivated individual with the ability to learn continuously and the ability to identify multiple avenues to successfully reach team goals
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to develop clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers
Microsoft Office Skills Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project
