Job Description & How to Apply Below
Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Fort Worth, TX who brings a practical, floor-oriented approach to a premier steel plate processing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for an engineer who understands that true operational excellence happens at the machine level. You will be the primary technical authority responsible for the reliability and performance of critical production assets, ranging from high-precision lasers to heavy-duty leveling lines.
You will be comfortable performing root-cause analysis in the office and troubleshooting complex machinery alongside the maintenance team on the shop floor.
- Base salary up to $175K. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.
- Comprehensive benefits and PTO package.
- Invest in new technology, company-paid training, and certifications to keep your skills at the cutting edge.
- Close-knit, professional culture and constant growth.
- This is a high visibility leadership role.
- Act as the lead technical resource for diagnosing equipment failures, motion control problems, and recurring mechanical issues on the production floor.
- Develop and implement upgrades to improve machine uptime, cut quality, and forming accuracy across plate lasers, tube lasers, and press brakes.
- Inspect and improve critical systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, gearboxes, and material feed systems.
- Execute Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and optimize preventive/predictive maintenance protocols to eliminate production inefficiencies.
- Coordinate with OEMs and service providers for major repairs, upgrades, and large-scale equipment standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (PE license is a significant plus).
- 7+ years in a steel manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of fiber lasers, plasma systems, press brakes, de-coiling lines, and leveling systems.
- Proven success in troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, bearings, and machine alignment.
