BridgeDesigner (EIT)
Benesch is seeking to hire a motivated Civil Engineer with 0 to 4 years of experience to join our Railroad Bridge team in Fort Worth, TX.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with or experienced in Rail Bridge or Highway Bridge design. This candidate will have the opportunity to work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Technicians across our various offices to deliver services for Class 1, short line, and commuter railroads. Someone in this role would be expected to communicate professionally internally and externally, be adaptable to project needs, conduct essential analyses of project elements, and more.
Benesch's Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This first‑hand experience working on designing and maintaining active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects.
LocationThis position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Fort Worth, TX office.
The Impact You Will Have- Perform basic analysis of project elements.
- Perform load development, design calculations of project elements, and checking work.
- Prepare organized structural calculations.
- Design structural elements and details.
- Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
- Perform tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned.
- Work independently under the guidance of a Project Manager.
- BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline.
- MS in Civil Engineering preferred.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year.
- Minimum one year of structural design experience or relevant internship experience.
- Excellent communication for internal and external clients.
- Detail‑oriented and experienced with developing plans and specifications.
- Ability to perform complex analysis and design.
- Familiarity or proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Open Roads, or other relevant software.
- Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
