Environmental Planner

** Overview*
* Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth office is seeking a Environmental Planner to join our Power Delivery team!

** Responsibilities*
* + Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations

+ Secures permits, ensures compliance and manages ecological risks for transmission lines and substations.

+ Conducts route analysis for new transmission lines and selecting sites for substations to minimize environmental impact.

+ Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.

+ Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning

+ Develops EMPs (Environmental Management Plans) to manage land disruption, noise, erosion, and vegetation management during construction.

** Qualifications*
* + Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmentlal Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)

+ 10+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities

+

Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning

+ Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law

+

Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus

+ Strong writing/verbal skills

+ Working knowledge of GIS/Arc View

+ Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

+ Positive attitude and a strong work ethic

+ Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines

+ Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment

+ Ability to work independently and as a team
