PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading force in the aviation industry to hire a skilled Quality Operations Specialist in Fort Worth, TX. Location: Fort Worth, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (9/80 schedule)
Competitive pay: $28.00 – $48.00 per hour
Role Summary & ImpactAs a Quality Operations Specialist
, you will play a vital role in ensuring manufacturing processes and inspection methods not only meet—but exceed—customer and regulatory quality expectations. You will bridge engineering and production by translating complex technical data into actionable quality plans, inspection instructions, and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Your work will directly influence product integrity, compliance, and performance across both new aircraft development and legacy programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and revise First Article Inspection (FAI) Plans and Quality Inspection Instructions (QIIs) for complex machined and composite parts, including rotor system components
- Serve as a Planning Review Board (PRB) member representing Quality
- Ensure compliance with configuration management through audits, evaluations, and tracking
- Translate engineering data into effective manufacturing and quality planning processes
- Interface with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors to resolve quality‑related issues
- Support advanced quality initiatives, new aircraft development, and legacy production programs
- Interpret complex 3D models (Catia V6 & 3DX) for quality planning activities
- Utilize MES systems (CAMS, SAP ECC, SAP PEO) to support production and quality workflows
- Maintain strong documentation and communication standards while working independently
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Industrial Technology/Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience in aerospace or manufacturing
- OR 5+ years of aviation manufacturing planning experience (considered equivalent)
- Strong expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for machined and composite parts
- Thorough understanding of AS9100 / AS9102 standards and First Article Inspection processes
- Experience creating Quality Inspection Instructions and defining inspection points in planning routes
- Ability to interpret complex engineering models and technical data
- Experience with MES systems such as CAMS, SAP ECC, or SAP PEO
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
- Aerospace industry experience supporting complex aircraft systems or rotor components
- Experience with advanced quality planning methodologies and tools
- Familiarity with Catia V6 and 3DX environments
- Background supporting both new product development and legacy programs
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional and external stakeholders
