Job Title:

CMT Technician

This entry-level CMT Technician role supports commercial and industrial projects, including commercial construction, power plants, and aviation facilities. You will perform field sampling and testing, support compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations, and work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors on active job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field sampling and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Observe and document construction and environmental activities, including erosion control measures and stormwater systems.
  • Assist with inspection of site conditions to verify compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare clear and accurate daily field reports, logs, and documentation of testing results using pen and paper for submission to the office for digitization.
  • Collect, label, and safely transport material samples to laboratories for further analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors on site to support project execution and resolve field issues.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate testing equipment properly and safely in a variety of field conditions.
  • Follow all safety procedures and site‑specific protocols while working on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Support team members in the field, including working in teams of 3–6 on local and traveling assignments throughout Texas.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of experience in commercial construction environments.
  • At least 6 months of experience in environmental commercial or industrial work.
  • Experience performing or supporting documentation and reporting in a CMT technician or similar field role.
  • Ability to perform field sampling and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
  • Ability to observe and document construction and environmental activities, including erosion control and stormwater systems.
  • Ability to prepare accurate daily field reports and logs using handwritten documentation.
  • Comfort working on commercial and industrial job sites, including large‑scale projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Texas as part of field teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in testing, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and using testing equipment correctly.

Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • ACI certification.
  • Experience working with project managers, engineers, and contractors on active job sites.
  • Exposure to large, high‑profile projects in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Interest in career growth from field roles into project management or other advanced positions.
Work Environment

You will work primarily on commercial and industrial job sites, including major projects such as large‑scale manufacturing facilities. Assignments are both local and throughout Texas, typically working in teams of 3–6. The role is field‑based and involves working outdoors and in active construction environments, with frequent travel between sites. You will regularly handle and operate testing equipment, perform manual documentation using pen and paper, and coordinate with the office for digitization of reports.

The environment emphasizes adherence to safety procedures and site protocols while working on complex, large‑scale projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
