Position: Aeronautical Engineer (Aero & Thermodynamics) - Early Career

Position Overview

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia is seeking a full-time Early Career Aeronautical Engineer for Thermodynamics.

In this role, you will determine and define the thermal profiles for the structure, fluids, and electronic systems onboard the aircraft.

Conduct analyses to ensure that the aircraft and systems are adequately protected against design temperature exceedances, humidity, icing, and explosive or corrosive environments.

The scope of analyses includes thermodynamic cycle modeling, heat transfer, fluid flow, pressure, and thermal management system performance analyses.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of aeronautical engineering, model-based design software, and MATLAB.

Security Clearance

Position requires a government security clearance (Secret). Must be a U.S. Citizen. The facility requires special access.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • Demonstrated experience in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, or thermodynamics through real‑world or research environments
Desired Skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to learn continuously and identify multiple avenues to achieve team goals
  • Works well individually and with team members across multiple organizations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project
Work Schedule

Full‑time onsite. 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Lockheed Martin supports flexible and condensed schedules as additional flexibility for employees.
