Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

This is a Manufacturing Engineer Staff position on the Production Engineering (F‑35 Strategic Corrective Action) team in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves leading investigations of manufacturing discrepancies, applying Lean Six Sigma  tools, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and driving product improvement initiatives.

• Lead investigations of manufacturing discrepancies across multiple build sections.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma  techniques to discover root causes, close process gaps, and develop corrective action plans.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Quality Engineering and Production Operations teams.
• Project‑manage corrective action efforts from initiation through verification and closure.
• Track and report key metrics to reduce variation and elevate overall product quality.
• Promote creative problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment and cross‑functionally with quality assurance, production operations, design engineering, industrial engineering, project engineering, manufacturing engineering, and/or process engineering.
• Ability to apply structured root‑cause analysis techniques and develop corrective action plans.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and principles.

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills in a team environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, SFM, Product Data Manager (PDM), and other LM Aero systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience on the F‑35 or other military aircraft.

This position requires a US citizen and a government security clearance at the Secret level.
