Join the Fort Worth Flight Test Engineering Team as a Flight Test Control Engineer supporting the F-35 Ops Center. The Flight Test Engineering Team is a portion of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Directorate within the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Engineering and Technology Functional Engineering Organization. This Team is responsible for strategic planning of the F-35 Development Test (DT) Fleet, supporting coordination for DT data requirements, aircraft configuration management, and near-term execution constraint resolution.
The Ops Center is a subset of the Fort Worth Flight Test Engineering Team and is a service organization that supports Test Site Execution and Configuration Management of the Development Test Fleet. Current scope of effort is focused on the F-35 Platform with an expectation that the function will expand to support additional LM Aero Flight Test Platforms as well.
This FTCE position will support F-35 Mod Planning, Coordination, Implementation, DT Fleet Sustainment initiatives, and Long-Range Mod Planning. This position will collaborate with the Test Sites, Customers, and other Flight Test Stakeholders to ensure DT assets are maintained in a flyable state. The role will also coordinate, enable, and facilitate the necessary mods to ensure the aircraft are in proper test configurations to support Program Objectives.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for overall Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) management for all Test sites. This includes instrumented and non-instrumented assets that move between PAX, Fort Worth, and Edwards test facilities. The qualified candidate will:
- Evaluate existing AME asset condition, count, and configuration
- Track all AME assets across the F-35 flight test initiative
- Build a strategic plan for new AME acquisition, to include proposal development
- Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure AME migrates quickly from acquisition to ready-for-use
This position may require occasional travel, based on Customer requirements. Travel locations are typically to the JPO in Arlington, VA, and the F-35 Test Sites, (Edwards AFB, CA and Patuxent River NAS, MD). Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
