Senior Electrical Engineer
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead engineering efforts within the energy sector. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and business development to support expansion of energy transition services. You will mentor junior staff, lead project delivery, and develop end-to-end energy solutions from concept through execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering teams delivering advisory and design services across energy projects
- Engage directly with clients to assess needs and develop concept-level solutions
- Advance projects through detailed design and execution phases
- Support strategy development, business development, and sales efforts
- Collaborate with account managers on key pursuits
- Provide technical oversight on power systems design and analysis
- Mentor and manage junior and mid-level engineers
- Support project management, contract management, and Owner's Engineer activities
- Contribute to due diligence and technical advisory work
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of electrical engineering design/consulting experience
- Strong background in power systems and electrical engineering fundamentals
- Experience with:
- Power distribution systems and microgrids
- Power generation
- Medium and high voltage substations
- Renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal)
- Energy storage systems
- Protection & Control, SCADA, or automation systems
- Thermal utility systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
- Cogeneration / combined heat and power
- Ability to develop design calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Experience with power system modeling tools (SKM, ETAP, or similar)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (Revit, AutoCAD, CADWorx, Navisworks)
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Experience in Owner's Engineer, advisory, or project development roles
- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization initiatives
