Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager leads the Post Delivery Modification (PDM) team, Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) Projects team, and the Enterprise Drilling Technology and Integration (EDTI) team. This role provides technical direction and business leadership for a high performing group of Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Test Engineers, and Tooling Engineers who support all Aeronautics programs. The leader drives cost effective, schedule driven solutions while ensuring compliance with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements at the OBS level.
Responsibilities- Develop manufacturing plans and tooling solutions to support and lead complex modifications and repair efforts at customer sites
- Gather and translate test equipment requirements into robust, integrated test solutions for a complex production environment
- Define hole preparation requirements, development of complex designs, delivery of capabilities, and production‑support and continuous improvement
- Manage cost and schedule to support direct and NBF activities in an EVMS‑compliant manner
- Manage staffing levels and talent development for the technical experts supporting the diverse portfolio
- Ensure business tempo is in place to drive performance efficiencies, team culture, and continuous improvement
- Approximately three years leadership experience
- Approximately five years of Production Engineering, Design Engineering, Corrective Action, and/or Assembly Operations experience
- Project management and decision making experience utilizing business and financial acumen
- Experience in LM earned value management system
- Knowledgeable of LM Aero tooling, sustainment modifications, manufacturing test equipment development & corrective action processes and systems
- Technical knowledge of F‑35, F‑22 and F‑16 design, manufacturing plan, tooling, and capital planning processes
- Knowledgeable and possess experience performing and managing producibility and affordability improvements
- Knowledgeable of manufacturing test engineering processes
- Able to effectively communicate the need for change and motivate teams to drive improvement to meet organizational goals
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at the LM executive and customer level
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
