Summary of Position:
Responsible for supervising a team of technicians to support automated product assembly equipment in a high volume, dynamic manufacturing environment. Supervisor responsibilities include scheduling, assigning tasks, providing daily support and direction, identifying training and development needs, and drafting employee performance documents. Team responsibilities include performance and documentation of equipment maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and improvements.
- Scheduling, assigning tasks, and documenting team performance
- Providing technical guidance to team
- Identifying training needs and facilitating training opportunities
- Collaborating with Operations Teams to ensure 24/7 technical support for complex automated assembly cells
- Reporting staffing needs to management and conducting candidate interviews
- Supporting and fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting complex automated assembly systems using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment (DMM, etc)
- Interpreting engineering documentation including schematics, component specifications, and 2D drawings
- Measuring/analyzing electrical, pneumatic, and fluid systems
- Interpreting and verifying I/O states and status within documented control systems
- Leading the Team by example by demonstrating a high attention to detail with a focus on craftmanship and a high standard for quality of work
- Collaborating effectively with management and site leadership using data to describe issues and recommended solutions
- Representing USConec in a professional manner when collaborating with suppliers and external partners
- Preparing and presenting reports, proposals, and equipment status updates to cross-functional site management teams and departments
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field highly preferred. Relevant experience will be considered
- 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting complex automated assembly systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Must have strong technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of complex, high volume product assembly automation systems, including robotics, microcontrollers, PLC programming, HMI, SCADA, sensors, and control systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation including equipment specifications, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Proven ability to effectively lead a team to support multiple work streams in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies
- Strong leadership, communication, and task management skills
- Experience with resource planning and team development
- Detail oriented with a focus on craftmanship and a high standard for quality of work
