Senior Civil Engineer (PE), Transportation, Fort Worth, TX Halff has an opening for a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, with a Texas PE License, in our Roadway / Transportation team in our Fort Worth, TX office. The ideal candidate would have 8-15 years of experience in roadway design for DOT and/or municipal projects, preferably in Texas. Candidates must have the ability to lead project design and plan production and provide guidance to technical staff with a commitment to quality.
Open Roads Designer (ORD) experience required. - Managing and overseeing the design and construction of transportation projects.
- Managing projects from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
- Applying technical expertise appropriately by understanding project specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
- Assisting in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Working closely with the Transportation Team Leader in the development and delivery of roadway / transportation projects.
- Performing complex transportation engineering tasks and leading other professional staff in the development of transportation projects.
- Developing and managing project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
- Managing multiple transportation tasks or projects in support of business needs.
- Managing other consultant teams and the workload of design staff including Engineers, EITSs, and technical staff that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supporting in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
- Reviewing transportation deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
- Reporting on project progress and budgets.
- Working with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
- Managing quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
- Monitoring project budgets, allocating resources effectively, and identifying opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas.
- At least 8 years of experience in roadway project development with emphasis in DOT and/or municipal projects, preferably in Texas.
- Micro Station CADD and Open Roads experience required.
- Ability to lead technical staff and manage projects in all aspects, from schedules and budgets to client interaction and proposal preparation and with a commitment to quality.
- Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and decision-making skills.

- Primavera (P6) Experience is desirable.
