ISEE is seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of work experience and has been through the product development lifecycle. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple new development projects, owning new hardware development from design and testing through production, writing specification documents for newly designed systems, and ensuring designs meet any and all regulatory needs.
Previous work in the automotive industry is a bonus, but not a necessity.
Design, integrate, and validate hardware for autonomous vehicles
Build schedules for new hardware initiatives
Create engineering specifications and coordinate development work on various vehicle subsystems
Develop assembly and test procedures
Work with contract manufacturers to ensure proper delivery of components
Lead design reviews
Design parts for manufacturing and BOM creation
Manage engineering changes for updates to existing vehicles
Work with Hardware team to ensure safety through all stages of development
Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years relevant industry experience designing products for production
Familiarity with GD&T and generation of engineering drawings and documentation
Familiarity with CAD Software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, NX)
Experience designing both sheet metal and machined parts
Experience with designing for outdoor or harsh environments (particulate ingress, water ingress, UV exposure, shock and vibe, high temp, etc)
Basic hand tool knowledge and experience
Excellent communication skills
Experience with plastic injection molding
Passionate about AI, robotics, and self-driving cars
Startup work experience
Robotics and logistics experience a plus
Familiarity with a machine shop
Familiarity with automotive systems
