We are seeking an experienced Permanent Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) calculations and design, as well as a comprehensive understanding of building codes and standards. They will be proficient in all design software, including CADD and Calculation Software, and be able to develop and design calculation tools for the Engineering Group.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the production of designs and review of existing designs identified in plans, specifications, submittals and shop drawings.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
- Identify design, process and equipment options that can satisfy client requirements, minimize costs and limit potential operational problems.
- Interface directly with other disciplines and coordinate with client personnel, contractors, architects, and other project team members to ensure value engineering and the delivery of high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames.
- Make presentations when necessary.
- Develop and design calculation tools for the Engineering Group.
- Utilize advanced understanding of building codes and standards in the design process.
- Active Professional Engineering License.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced understanding of all MEP calculations and design.
- Proficient in all Design Software (i.e. CADD, Calculation Software, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of engineering and design techniques plus understanding of all engineering disciplines.
- Ability to develop and design calculation tools for the Engineering Group.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of team members to achieve project goals.
