Salary range: $67,700.00 to $84,600.00. The range may vary if the location is outside of this area.
Position SummaryThe Environmental Health & Safety Specialist/Lead (EHS) is responsible for identifying, removing, and reducing hazards and risks. The lead will develop and implement policies that ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and assist departments with compliance and improve the health and safety practices of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and deliver initial and refresher EHS training programs to operations team members and all new hires
- Conduct site risk assessments to ensure risks are identified
- Work with the site leadership team to develop risk mitigation and elimination strategies to ensure a safe working environment
- Manage and implement environmental, health & safety programs to meet both regulatory requirements and Pernod Ricard requirements
- Help drive EHS continuous improvement efforts across the site
- Develop corrective action plans utilizing key stakeholders and tracking items to closure
- Drive safety culture initiatives
- Conduct incident and accident investigations to determine root cause, preventative actions and track actions to closure
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations
- Maintain required record‑keeping documents as required, ensure timely reporting for all site permits
- Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation
- Partner with site management to ensure applicable EHS related KPIs (accident rates, training participation, defects, etc.) are defined, tracked and measured on a regular basis. Focus should be on continuous improvement
- Conduct inspections where required
- Drive site environmental sustainability targets
- Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment
- Provide assistance and advice on EHS issues and make recommendations to area managers
- Ability to work with employees and achieve safety cultural progression, maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required
- 5+ years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Familiarity with reference standards (NFPA, OSHA, DISCUS, ANSI)
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and facilitate learning
- Public speaking skills
- Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft products
