Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator
Trinity Rail Maintenance Services is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator in our Fort Worth, TX manufacturing facility! Join our team today and be a part of Delivering Goods for the Good of All!
What you'll do:
- Implement established environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations
- Administer and monitor Corporate and BU environmental programs
- Perform routine inspections of waste accumulation areas, wastewater treatment systems, stormwater controls, tanks, and chemical storage areas
- Support compliance with air permits, wastewater permits, stormwater permits, SPCC plans, and applicable environmental regulations
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, including waste characterization, labeling, storage, inspections, and disposal documentation
- Maintain environmental records including inspections, manifests, waste profiles, permit documents, sampling results, and regulatory reports
- Collect operational and environmental data and assist in preparing required regulatory reports and permit submittals
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills, releases, and permit deviations; document findings and track corrective actions to completion
- Work directly with production, maintenance, and operations personnel to identify practical solutions that improve environmental compliance and performance
- Assist with implementation of pollution prevention, waste minimization, recycling, and sustainability initiatives
- Assist with environmental training and awareness activities related to waste management, spill response, stormwater protection, and permit compliance
- Build strong working relationships throughout the facility and serve as an environmental resource to operations teams
- Lead small environmental improvement projects and assist with larger site compliance initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or similar field preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Computer literacy with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
- Considerable knowledge of all state and federal regulations relative to environmental or ability to acquire quickly
