You will be the Thermodynamics Engineer for the Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics team which is responsible for... What You Will Be Doing As the Thermodynamics Engineer you will be responsible for developing and analyzing advanced thermal management solutions for aircraft platforms and providing temperature profile assessments that enable high-performance designs. Your responsibilities will include:
Design and evaluate thermal management systems for current and future air-vehicle platforms. Conduct detailed thermal and structural temperature analyses using simulation tools. Generate and validate temperature profile data to support system integration. Collaborate with aerodynamics, structures, and propulsion teams to ensure thermal solutions meet performance goals. Document findings, create technical reports, and contribute to design reviews. Who You Are You are a collaborative engineer with strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in thermodynamics, and experience with thermal modeling tools. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience/combined education considered.
- Experience in the thermal sciences, including heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis.
- Experience with thermal analysis tools and processes.
-Experience in Thermal Management Systems (TMS) design and analysis. Desired
Skills:
- Ability to lead a team of engineers in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary business environment.
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
Experience with Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Power and Propulsion.
- Strong experience with common thermal analysis tool sets.
- Ability to develop tools for analysis automation and optimization.
- Strong experience in structural thermal analysis (e.g., aero-heating). Security Clearance Statement:

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
